I recently had an amazing opportunity to second shoot for my good friend Kevin at the historic Casa Monica. We spent the weekend in St. Augustine shooting the rehearsal, dinner, and afterparty on Friday night followed by the wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday. I got to room with one of my new favorite wedding friends, Heather, from Dallas. We got a chance to take in the sights during the day because this wedding didn’t start until 7 pm. Might I just say they know how to make a mean margarita and banana daiquiri at OC White’s!
Kimberly was so full of emotion all day! Before the ceremony, she was laughing, crying, and glowing with excitement. Love these pics of her and her dad waiting in the Rolls outside the church. A large crowd gathered in the historic square and down the street as everyone anxiously awaited the bride emerging from the car to meet her groom waiting inside at the altar.

Wow! Nothing like a 300 year old church to bring a sense of history and ambience to a wedding. The rain started just as the guests were making their way from Casa Monica over to the church, but the dreary weather cleared up during the ceremony and made for some beautiful light outside.
The entire wedding was planned by the amazing Heather Snively. She managed to impress all the guests with the stunning decor. The custom dance floor featured the couple’s hibiscus wedding logo as did all their menu cards and the adorable little hibiscus cookies set out for each guest at their place setting. Seriously - check out the 6 foot tall centerpieces! And, how sweet is Kimberly trying to hide her tears over Ed’s shoulder during their first dance?

The guests danced the night away to a fabulous band that came up from Miami. I love bands because people always get really interactive…and that makes for great shots for me! Kimberly and her dad shared an impromptu boogie session on the dance floor - too cute! The cake was gorgeous with every layer a different flavor like coconut cake with guava filling (my favorite!!).
I had one of the most fun weekends in a long time! It’s so great to be a second shooter because you get all the fun with none of the stress. Plus, I got to share some time with 2 of my favorite photographers and exchange ideas and shop talk. Can’t wait to do it all again! Here we are in the photo booth…
