Amanda & Dustin

May 12, 2009

Amanda & Dustin wedding was a whirlwind of fun and excitement!  Surrounded by friends they had known their whole lives, this wedding was joyful and so full of life.  Check out Patricia LeJeune & Kristen Johnson of LeJeune PCA doing hair/make-up.

Above are the florals that Tommy with Greenery Productions created…purple is Amanda’s favorite color.  How perfect that the Grand Bohemian is covered in purple accents everywhere! And, Linda with Eventfully Yours was a enormous help to me all day!  She let Amanda’s mom relax and kept the bride hydrated and cool.  Everything was on schedule and stress-free!

Is Amanda stunning or what?  Dustin is a lucky man.

So, the funny thing about First Presbyterian Church is that they don’t allow us inside the sanctuary to shoot.  And, there’s no balcony in the little chapel.  But, the trade off it that it is just lovely…and we get to shoot through these really fun portholes in the doors.  Look at the natural light filling the room and turning the ceiling a beautiful shade of blue…doesn’t get much better than that!

After the ceremony, we headed down the block for some fun shots in downtown Orlando.  Love how Dustin and Amanda are totally comfortable with each other…laughing, snuggling, and just enjoying the first hour of their brand new marriage.

This is one hot shot of Dustin and Amanda in the elevator!  And, this is why I love shooting at the Grand Bohemian…

I don’t know what he said, but Amanda must have thought it was hilarious!  Their first dance was punctuated by moments of laughter and moments of quiet.  Dustin looked like he was really reveling in the company of his wife and just taking it all in.  Love how Amanda and her dad are perfectly centered in the frame in the image below.  Amanda’s mom, a professional event planner, did a fantastic job with the reception.  The purple uplighting really made the room glow and the cake by Party Flavors looked fantastic.

LOVE this shot of Amanda & Dustin on the dance floor during the last dance.  Totally carefree and without a thought to the numerous family and friends surrounding them….it’s moments like this that we all live for!  Below is a shot of the groom’s mom with her hands in the air - like she’s at a rock concert!  What a party!  Jay Edwards with Liquid Entertainment kept the dance floor packed all night long. The last shot of the night!  I love this shot because everyone’s hands are surrounding them clapping as they are lost in a moment.  What a way to end the night!

Congratulations to you both!

Alexandra & Michael

May 12, 2009

Alexandra & Michael’s weddings was full of classic beauty.  You’ll remember these two from their engagement session I posted on this blog months ago.  Two really genuine people with a light-hearted style!

The ceremony was at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  Normally, Catholic churches have a million restrictions but this church seemed fairly relaxed and I was able to move around discreetly to get the best angles.  Alex told me she was teasing  Michael through the whole ceremony singing to him and making him laugh - too cute!

Between the church and the reception - there were no pretty places to stop for pictures.  Providence Country Club was amazing, but the guests were all outside for cocktails and Alex and Michael wanted some privacy.  So, instead we chose to stop at the entrance to the Country Club and despite the hot mid-day sun, we got some beautiful images of Alex and Michael.

The reception decor was so unique!  Alex really put her own style into her wedding and I think it was perfect.  Raul Melo created her bouquets and centerpieces - so fresh and modern!  And Jessica Gomez with O So Sweet Cake Design made her beautiful (and tasty!) cake.

This is one my favorite set of Father/Daughter dance images ever!  It was full of emotion and the ambience of the room just added to the drama.  So, so touching!  A few of these will be entered into competition…keep your fingers crossed for me!  The couple’s first dance was sweet and their happiness just filled the room.  No crying for them - only smiles and kisses as they begin their new life together!

After dinner, we went outdside to take advantage of the beautiful golf course and the last bit of sunset left in the sky.  As Alex and Michael were snuggling for pictures, the faint hiss of sprinklers started just behind them.  Alex ran to keep dry, but after assessing the sprinkler’s reach we opted to head back to the golf course for a few more shots.  Lucky we did - we got this gorgeous silhouette!  This last shot is the couple’s wedding rings nestled in the opening in their champagne glasses.
